RACE Course
thorXtri - an extreme half distance triathlon on south western part of Norway. It has a chilly 1900 meter fjord swim, 90 km curvy and hilly bike course and a 20 km long spectacular cliff-edge near run to finish off at Eagles Nest.
The run course is all-terrain, at times, quite technically demanding terrain. The views are amazing, and if you love spectacular trail running, this is the race for you!
Swim Leg:
A point-to-point fjord swim starts next to the hydro power outlet. It is approximately 1800 meters in distance. Expect cold conditions and a rough swim due to local hydro power plants, and the river next to Lysebotn Pier sends refreshing mountain water from the plateau 800-1000 meters above into the fjord. The swim exit is next to Lysebotn Pier. The backup swim course is a loop course closer to the swim exit.

The bike course of approx 90k involves a really tough climb up from Lysebotn to the peak at 932 meters above sea level, and a total of approx 2700 meters of elevation gain before finishing at T2 at Eagles Nest. It will be a bike ride through a fairy tale land including exciting fjords, climbs, valleys, next to rivers, and trying to avoiding sheep obstacles, all on very narrow roads.
Please note that a road bike is strongly recommended.

The run leg takes you up the tarmac towards Langevatn. The run course (or for most athletes, a fast hike) will take you to the famous Kjeragbolten. The course is extremely technical and not a fast run! You will be blown away by the beauty of the landscape and running along the cliff-edge over the mighty Lysefjord. The distance is approximately 20 km with approximately 1000 meters of elevation gain
