The thorXtri athletes must follow the racecourse shown on the map. The athletes that do not follow the course will be disqualified.

There will be checkpoints throughout the course. See map for more information. Athletes failing to pass the checkpoints will be disqualified.

In case of extreme weather, such as high winds or poor visibility, or due to other unexpected situations, the race organization reserves the right to shorten or change the course or, in the worst case, cancel the race. This is for the protection and safety of you as an athlete and our marshalls.

Swim leg:

  • A full wetsuit suitable for the water temperatures between 10-17 degrees.

  • Extra neopren items like non-webbed gloves, socks and swim cap is highly recommended.

You will swim into the head current and due to hydro power outlets you therefore might be “tossed” about in the fjord, expect a rough swim!

After the swim all our swimgear will need to be placed inside a plastic bag provided by the race organization, please lable this with your race-bib number. This bag you will be able to pick up later on Saturday, before or after, the post-race party.

  • CE approved helmet and yellow lights in front and solid red light in back.

  • No change of bike or wheels are allowed except due to mechanical failure. In this case the Race Office must be informed.

  • thorXtri is a DRAFT legal race, not that you will really get much help up and down the bike course, howeve vehicle drafting /pacing is not allowed.

4. TIMING

We use an app-based timing service provided by RaceID.com. We have start and finish time only. This is an “old-school” triahtlon concept.

We have a water start at 0500, and, and your official time stops when you cross the finish line at Eagles Nest after your swim/bike/run. Your race bib must be worn on back on bike and in front on your run - visible so our marshalls can see your race number, which ensures the correct times are recorded when you cross the finishline.

5. ATHLETES RESPONSIBILITY

The athletes must know the rules and follow these. The athletes shall respect other athletes, organizations, spectators, tourists, the environment, and the people living in the race area. The athletes are not allowed to use unfair methods to get advantages. Doping is forbidden as per Norges Idrettsforbund (NIF).

Athletes can train and scout the course before the race. Any athlete doing so must respect the residents and land-owners in the area, and behave according to the Norwegian “Allemansretten.”

The athletes are obliged to help in an emergency if the organization or a fellow athlete requests your assistance. During the race, the athletes participate at their own risk and cannot hold the organization responsible for any accident. The athletes are obliged, to the best of their ability to help another athlete that has been injured or sick, it is not expected that full medical care shall be administered but please ensure the marshalls or organisers are informed, and injured parties are made as safe and comfortable as possible.
